It's early November and the trees are turning this pretty orange and red.
Temperature today is in the mid 70's with lots of sun. I noticed the plants and flowers are starting to go dormant, so I ran a got my camera to
document all their summer work.
Can't wait to see them all again in the Spring.
The dogs were curious at what I was up too :)
I just love this time of year..

I kept a journal throughout the cancer
trip on Facebook. My friends and family were right beside me as my support group.
I'd like to share it.. Its an insight and
it just might help someone.....follow the link to....I'd rather have taken a camping trip.

I haven't posted for quite a while because life for me took an
unpredictable turn.
June 2011, I found out that I had stage 3 triple
negative breast cancer. I found the lump on my 50th birthday. That was quite a present..but I guess I had 50 years of positive mental training to prepare for this unbelievable challenge.
I've always been a positive person and I contribute that to my military upbringing.
My dad was an Army Drill Sergeant and in Intelligence with the Missile Defense System in the 70's. We moved on the average of every 3 years, back and forth from Lawton, Okla. to Germany. During all that moving, I just developed this strong “Polly
Anna”
attitude of...."Life, if not great today, will be better tomorrow".
My Mom being a great “type A” military wife instilled strength and determination in my 2 older sisters and I...lol..Yep,I'm the youngest, so I had to be tough.. of
course my sisters and I displayed our strengths in many different ways but we
always had each other’s backs in the journey of moving and growing up. To this
day if something should go wrong, I have no doubt that I will see my sister’s
right there behind me.
My husband and children are my focus..but my sisters are my strength!
I just want to thank them for always being there. Ever Ready!
Ever Ready, a saying I heard my dad say about the Army. I would watch my dad polish his boots and medals the night before he would give a surprise inspection to his platoon. I said “They aren’t going to like this surprise”.Dad would smile and say “ A solder is
Ever Ready.”.. So since I have always been a proud Army Brat! I was Ready to fight this cancer... It's funny, how a quote can shape an attitude!

I've pampered this little plant for a week and its giving me a bloom!!! got this palnt from my mom's backyard in Oklahoma City. She is selling her house so I dug up the palnt and brought it with me to Texas..Hope the transplant and heat doesn't kill it..

Mary, a good friend of mine, told me about author, Diane Mott Davidson, and her Goldie Catering Books years and years ago. I've been reading Diane's books and watching her grow as an author ever since. Goldie, the main character, is a caterer that lives in Colorado with her police chief husband. Goldie always gets mixed up in some sort of who-done-it mystery. This is her latest book - Crunch Time.  I suggest going to the library or half price books and reading them from the first book to the current book, so you can understand Goldie's background and what makes her tick. I’m going to go buy Crunch Time tomorrow. Can't wait!
