This last week, I’ve been on a road trip, moving my oldest to Santa Monica, California. I asked my sister(Thanks Julie) to be my traveling partner for the drive out there and back because Les just recently took a new job with a local company and couldn't ask off. I'm home now and  having a hard time bouncing back because of the long drive and the emotional expense it took looking for an apartment and the separation anxiety that came with  leaving my first born so far away from home..Don't get me wrong, I know that other moms go through much more difficult experiences of separation. Any child joining the military and having to serve overseas in Iraq or Afghanistan or for that matter, anywhere more than 3 hours away is so more deserving of consoling; But support is everything! and if that was what he wanted to do..Okay.Come to find out he didn't like the distance either and with a counteroffer from the office he just left..Ryan has returned home. I'm so thankful.

Right outside my front door is a small bed of Crocuses. I mean small, 3 or 4 crocuses at the most. I anticipate their growth all winter. So early, every January, I start pushing around the leaves,uncovering the dirt, looking for their little heads to pop up through the ground. I love these little flowers but never seem to plant more, i could, but for some reason the few i planted years ago are just enough to show me  that Spring is on the way..and all things are renewed. They never have disappointed me. Of course there are all sorts of Odes and analogies..Mine are these quiet little crocuses..
              That's all i need.....There they are...........I get it...     

Doves are holding out on the ground and in the flower pots..Les feeds them so they're not going far.

It's mostly ice but we'll enjoy anything that causes school to close for the day.

The superbowl is this weekend... I bet the out-of-towners didn't expect this..20degrees with wind chill 7 but by Sunday it's going to be 57 and sunny.

Sorting and filing moments in a blog is so much better than forgetting the moments altogether.
